Nofollow und WordPress

Es ist amtlich: Das nofollow Attribut wird standardmässig in WordPress implementiert. In den aktuellen nightlies kommt es schon zum Einsatz. Dabei wird der Name des Kommentarautors, sofern er eine URL angegeben hat, mit dem Attribut rel=”external nofollow” versehen. Links die innerhalb eines Kommentars stehen werden nicht berücksichtigt.(Das war eine falsche Information! Danke an Christoph für den Hinweis) Ebenfalls werden alle Links innerhalb des Kommentartextes mit dem Attribut versehen.
In den WP-Maillisten kochen die Diskussionen um das umstrittene Attribut. Matt hat dabei unmissverständlich klar gemacht, dass das Attribut nicht optional angeboten wird. Hier ein kleiner Auszug:

Josh: “What we are saying is that why is it so hard to add a simple checkbox in the admin area to turn it off.”
Matt: “Because it’s not a simple option, it’s a silly option that shouldn’t
exist in the first place. There are a MILLION things we could have
options for, the fact that we make design decisions rather than
presenting for every possible whim any time there’s a disagreement is
what makes WordPress different. Bloody hell was raised about some of the
options we removed early on in WP, and things seemed to have turned out
okay.”[...]
Christoph Rummel hat für WordPress eine pfiffige Plugin Lösung gebastelt, mit der das Attribut nach X-Tagen automatisch wieder entfernt wird. Dadurch bleiben dem Betreiber X-Tage Zeit, um zu prüfen, ob sich unter den neuen Kommentaren, ein Spammkommentar befindet. Das Plug kommt hier im Blogshop zum Einsatz.
Mittlerweile wurde ein Wiki zur No-Nofollow Initiative gestartet.

Es werden übrigens auch die Links im Kommentartext mit nofollow versehen, sowohl korrekt als tag geschriebene als auch die, die nur als link geschrieben werden (function make_clickable). Sofern eine site aber in der blogroll ist, bleibt ihr das nofollow erspart, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, letzteres habe ich allerdings nicht im code nachgeprüft.

…hmm, ich hab`das gerade nochmal hier nachgeprüft aber die Links im Text werden nicht damit versehen (Dieser Link im Quelltext). Allerdings läuft hier die beta vom 22. Werde mir den Code gleich mal genauer anschauen.

OK, die Links im Kommentartext sollen ebenfalls mit nofollow versehen werden. Danke für den Hinweis.

Super, danke. Habe das nofollow endlich rausbekommen, ist wirklich schade, das WordPress es automatisch einbaut.

Interessant! Werde das gleich ausprobieren. Generell finde ich es aber o.k. wenn das so ist. Sollen doch die WM entscheiden ja oder nein. Gegen Spam hat man auch schließlich noch den Bestätigungsschutz. Also **what happen :-)
